What is that a saving of?

They seem to be €25 each, so you're saving €15 with that code.

Not as good as last year's offer of 2 for 1

Not as good as last year alright, but €15 is still a good saving, I'll be buying them anyway!

so its 25euro just for entry to that place, then you gotta pay for any food you want????

Yep, you buy their currency called florins, when you go in and use it to buy any food that you want inside. By the way just noticed that does not include a service charge of €3.50 that they add to each ticket.

Already a bargin alert here with some info if folks aren't familiar with the event.

The other bargain alert is now expired. So the cheapest is 2 for €35. A lot of good info in the other thread though.

I don't get the way Taste of Dublin operates. I have been to Taste of Chicago and it is massive and most importantly free. You just pay for your food but there is no charge to enter the area.

Yeah - seems ridiculously expensive to me. You pay into a place where you buy samples of foods from restaurants ? Hmm.

I went last year and I won't be going back.

They charge the vendors a fortune and then they charge us entry on top of it. The vendors then overcharge for the food, which varied in quality, and you can only pay in non refundable "florins". The facilities provided for sitting and eating your overpriced snack are lacking/non-existent. It's all blatant profiteering as far as I could see, and that sort of thing usually doesn't bother me. They're just too greedy.

On the other hand, if the weather is good then there's worse places to spend your day then the Ivey Gardens, and the atmosphere is fairly festive. Also, if you plan on visiting a lot of the non-restaurant booths then that would add value too.

I agree wholeheartedly with this opinion

I was there last year too and can't disagree with any of your points but I had a great time. While you do have to pay for your food and drink there is entertainment provided and more importantly/interestingly are the chef demonstrations, there were at least three the day I was there and I learned a lot. The "match your food with beer" demo was good too.

Oh and The Iveagh Gardens are very beautiful!

Best not to pay for tickets at full price I guess!

I went there last year and felt very ripped off after the event. Ya get fleeced for cash even after paying in.

I can see how you could spend a lot once you get in but you wouldn't have to. you can wander around and sample LOTS of wines and whiskey and small finger food. We did some wine tasting too which was fun!

There's a website offering free tickets - link.

There's free samples as well as restaurant stands that you have to pay for, isn't there? I'd go if I had a free ticket, anyway :D
