Right since I am a better kayaker than computer nerd, I have attached the first draft of a Sea trip planner. I wanted to do something generic and put it out there. (so the beta version will work)

Just looking for comments and thoughts and if it works use it but if you change it for the better let me know so version 1.2 gets shared. :)

Looks good nice and simple to use two things I may include is an emergency contact number and. possible emergency exit points along the route planned.
    Fair play

Are you planning on using this for people on a trip and/or leaving it with some one so they know where you have gone?

A possible refinement on map carrying.

If I am in an area with which I am unfamiliar I copy the relevant section of the OS map and mark in magnetic bearings (from both ends) and distances in km for any area that I may wish to find or return from. (Headlands to landing points etc), and bungie it to my deck (I like an ocean cockpit for this).

I like the OS maps because landmarks are well marked and I hope one is in sight of land. If not there is heavy fog or probably something seriously wrong.

Relevant tidal flow info etc can be transferred from charts.

It is easier than trying to figure bearing and distance out in a crisis.

    Thanks for all the ideas.

Personally I would hope either the OS or the Imray guys would see the hole in the market for coastal paddlers/ rowers and sailors and make a proper coast map.
