Question About FAS Payment

    Hello,

I started a FAS course today and we were told that we would receive no payment/allowance for this week, we will only be paid from next week onwards. And we would not be given a double payment next week to account for this week and next week. We will each (course participants) receive a weekly payment (which varies from person to person).

Basically saying we are getting paid for 5 weeks, not 6 weeks.

However, in my local FAS office, two different people there both told me, that we would be paid for 6 weeks (the course is a 6 week course).

    Which is correct?

    Thank you.

    Thank you.

I hope this is what the person meant, but the way she explained it, it sounded like we wouldn't be paid for six weeks, only five weeks.

It's a line week. Your wages are always one week behind.

In other words, on the last week of the course, you'll get paid, but you'll also get paid the week after the course has ended.

It's done like this so they have time to make adjustments for missing days and the likes.

    Thank you for this.

Our course tutor explained this to us again and what you said is exactly what he said.
