What are the cheaper options for travelling to Newry from Dublin other than Bus Eireann or Ianród Eireann? Bus Eireann's €21return while the train is €18 return.

Are there any private bus companies that are cheaper than these?

    Cheers.

Jaysus, €21 is steep, especially compared to the fare to Dundalk.

    Maybe I've got it wrong:

You are correct - Bus Eireann are EUR 21 return, but there may be promotional fares available - give them a call to check on 01-8366111. Note that Bus Eireann cannot sell cross-border tickets online (due to Ulsterbus being unable to validate the tickets).

Aircoach, the only other operator, are EUR 20 return from Dublin Airport to Newry.

Wow, you're right!!! Just check that the 100x is still going to Newry, there are notices on the 100x at present saying that that particular service does not run beyond Dundalk. I might have got this wrong though!!!

Newry is served by service 001 - check with Bus Eireann on the phone number in my post above.

The 100X no longer services Newry since the recent timetable change.
