Yeah you can apply for your maintenance grant... it's a shame you didn't apply at some point during this semester gone by as you may have been awarded it for this year.

Of course you still have to meet all their bonkers requirements which is a whole new magical world of problems.. ;) just ring your local VEC branch... I'm fairly sure they handle it all now..... and I have no idea about the student assistant fund XD

Hey man I looked into the students assistant fund on the web yesterday. ITB is listed as a college that supports it and offers it. However when you click the link to be brought to the page about it on the itb site... you just get an error page..

I guess the best thing to do is ask at reception. ;)

I applied for the grant last yr, which was my first yr in college. I didnt get the grant till the summer time i was even finished my exams at this stage. Now i have to reply to the grant and fill out the endless forms once more. The best thing to do is act fast cause you might be waiting some time for a reply from them

    best of luck

PS. if you call the college and ask for the grant department they will help you with every thing

If you've applied for the grant once before and your not changing course just progressing into the next year of it, the VEC for me just send out a renewal form which has about 6 box's to fill.... and nothing like the monstrosity of the first application letter. My only main problem with it is there deadline for having the application in, always ends ages before most colleges release results in letter form to students. They say it's fine aslong as you enclose a letter saying exam results to follow... but they back you into that as a result of the whacky end date. Also as far as I can tell even the closing date doesn't really seem to matter... I think it does for the first application but after that it's just some random thing.
