Some friends and I of mine are thinking about going away for a period in a few months. Some want New Zealand, others, including I, would prefer mainland Europe such as, say, Italy*. Anyway, some of us also don't have a degree (including myself) so I must ask, how much of a hindrance would that be overseas in either New Zealand or, say, France*?

I considered doing a TEFL course too before I go just in case we but would that prove useless without the degree in, say, Spain*?

*We're obviously still vague on where exactly we would like to go in mainland Europe. :o

Know this is a few weeks old but surprised nobody answered! Maybe you have things sorted but thought I'd reply anyway.

Why exactly do you need to have a degree if you are only going away for a few months? Are you looking for a certain type of job that may require a degree in a certain subject?

I've lived in New Zealand and it is easy as pie to get a 1 year working visa.
Haven't done the European thing yet.

Having travelled in both NZ & Europe Id recommend NZ any day. Not only on terms of value for money but also Europe is something you can do when you're older and its also very much on our doorstep here in Ireland, especially with cheap flights etc.

    NZ hands down IMO.
