I really would like to know as well.
My manager says 1 hour but how is this possible?
    Working 8 hours = 1 hour break
Working 12 hours = again 1 hour?

Your manager is correct. You are entitled to a minimum of 30 mins for each 6 hours so in a 12 hour shift you should have at least 2 x 30 minute breaks.

We get a 45 minute lunch and 30 minute evening tea for a 13 hour shift (but we get no official break for an 11 hour night shift).

    I worked 12 hour shifts before ..8am to 8pm.
    We got a 15min break at 10am,
30 min break at 1.30pm and
    15min break at 5pm.
So thats 1 hour in a 12 hour shift. Phew!

I guess im lucky so -

I do 12 hour shifts too

    and get a:

    15min
    30min
    15min
    10min

so 1hour 10mins total. 10 minutes more than what im suppose too  lucky to have a job though....

    - From what i gather of the citizenInfo is that you must not work over 4 and a half hours without taking a break -

    - if you work 6 hours than you're entitled to 30mins of break time which can be split up or taking all at once during that 6 hours -

    - I assume if you work 12 hours than you are entitled to 1hour.

    - Also if you work of 6 hours and you work in a shop betwen 11.30am-2.30pm you are entitled to a one hour consecutive break which must occur during those hours

This is the 'general rules' when it comes to breaks which kinda makes me question why the actual law when it comes to breaks isnt easier to access!!!!
