    Hello people,
So I have been messing around with recording for quite some time now.. have a good handle on the audio side of things in general. I am about to jump into MIDI and wanted to know if anyone here can recommend a good controller/keyboard. I would prefer something with some on-board synths etc as opposed to just a controller...
My budget would be around 500 bucks.
    What are ye using???
    Thanks...

i bought a yamaha dx21 years back and it works dandy as a midi controller. cheap, plus it works without midi. You can get controllers pretty cheapish from a few hundred depending on what you want - http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.family&ID=USBkeyboardcontrollers

    my only advice is this:

many decent keyboards also come with added midi controllers (knobs)...

If you can find one that does, you'll be happy you did.

That's a very good budget for a midi keyboard. I'm very happy with Novation. Does all the stuff you need.
