Does anyone intra day trade in the stock market?
Anybody based in the West of Ireland (Mayo) especially?
I have been to a few courses now and want to learn more before i start trading myself.
Would love to hear from anyone trading (mostly U.S equities).
    Thanks,
    Steve.

Were these courses in the West? What did you do exactly?

In my humble opinion, inorder to day trade successfully you need access to live quotes, not the delayed quotes, and you need to have very small broker charges like $2 per trade type of thing.
So i would check if you have the possibility of getting those before you spend more time on the strategy side.

Yes, you absolutely need live quotes, and i agree also about the broker charges.
But these things i don't care about right now. I firstly want to see some people trade live, ideally look over their shoulder, to see exactly what they are doing, what they are looking for, what they are looking to avoid, etc.

About the courses i have done. None of them were in the West by the way. They were all in Dublin. Various courses, one in DBS in Stock Broking Investing, a day course with Solas Traders, and numerous day seminars with different groups.

Still love to hear from anyone who does it regularly, and successfully.
    Thanks.

    OP,

If you're interested in technical analysis, you should read "Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets" by John J. Murphy. It's a very well regarded book on the subject.

    Thanks for that, :)

    Hi
    https://www.thinkorswim.com/tos/client/index.jsp?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&ved=0CBYQFjAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thinkorswim.com%2F&rct=j&q=thinkorswim&ei=-Jj1S-7gHYH60wS368HpBw&usg=AFQjCNGkD0tkn7VGn8Wd1S0yuegmCZEJcA&sig2=2Dzb45DLPgOsf-lg1YT6SQ

Thinkorswim is IMO one of the best platforms you can demo it for free.... 15 mins delayed.... but you can practice with it.

Here are some videos you can look at ... as close as you will get to looking over someones shoulder IMO http://www.informedtrades.com/f111/
