If your going to LIT you want somewhere in caherdavin for a safe place to live rent. If you come out of LIT and head away from thomand park there is a student village which mite be of interest to you.. only 5 mins walk

    http://www.thomondvillage.com/

    hope that helps...

I lived in cratloewood while studying out over in LIT. Only 10 minutes walk from the college out to there. Would probably go for one of these student villages when starting off the first year anyway.

    See here: http://www.cratloewood.com/

You will have to get two bus connections out to O'connell avenue to get to the youthreach center from Caherdavin. Or just get one to the city centre and walk 10 mins from Brown Thomas out to the youthreach center.

Or get an Apt in town or Clancy / O'Callaghan Strand. Walking distance to LIT and Youthreach.

re - any areas that are no-go: Southill and Moyross are the worst areas. The latter is near LIT.

Is she going to the Art college campus or the main LIT campus? Art College is on the Dublin Road whereas the main LIT campus is close to Thomand Park.

Both are a good distance from each other so depending on which one she is going to will make a difference to where you should seek accomodation.

    Some good info here also:

The art college isnt in Caherdavin its on the Dublin Road, Maybe have a look at Harveys Quay Apartments, thats within walking distance, either that or have a look around Groody, where you could drop her in on your way to work or use one of the many buses that run that way.

Grove Island Apartments arent too far away either.

You can look anyplace in the city centre, that would be the best for your needs.
