Vodafone voicemail and HTC desire issue

I'v a HTC Desire on a pay as you go Vodafone account but cant get the phone to forward calls to my voice mail by default. I can do it in a contacts settings but need it for calls that are not in contacts as well. Tried doing it in call forwarding settings under call in settings but get "unexpected response from network"…

Got the solution from Vodafone support which Iv listed below in case anyone else is stuck...

type into dialler **61*(mailbox no.)**(no. of seconds you want it to ring for)#send

Type this into the main screen, your mailbox number is your mobile number with a 5 after the prefix. so it will be 0875 and then the rest of your number.
