Trust

If your OH betrays your trust is there ever a way back from it?

They didn't cheat but were as close as before they were caught. If they are willing to do it once is it only a matter of time before it happens again? But all the way this time?

I guess what I'm wondering is, can trust ever be regained or will it always be a case of wondering what they are doing when I'm not there?

Depends on the person? How did you catch them?

Cheating in person is bad. But flirting by phone or email can be forgiven because it didn't actually happen. This kind of "cheating" is like men watching porn, it feeds into a fantasy that will never happen.

It really depends. My ex was doing it online behind my back and i could never build up that trust again with him. I did try but i just couldnt give 100% to the relationship in the end. So to me there was no point on continuing it.

My advice would be to give it a shot and if it doesnt feel right or you cant forget it then call it a day.

I dont know- flirting by phone or e-mail shows intention to commit. Maybe they were hoping it would lead to something else. Think it depends on the situation. As for trust- once lost, it would take a long time to rebuild. The other person would need to prove they can be trusted again

It really depends on you. Some people aee better than others at forgiving and forgetting. I am not one of thse people.

What kind of way was your trust broken? cheating on an emotional level can be so much worse than a physical one.

I wouldn't be able to forgive either way. Once trust is broken I don't think it can be put back together again.

Speaking from a personal perspective, I wouldn't want to be with someone who was cheating on me... physically, emotionally or otherwise. Life's too short to tolerate people who are reckless with your heart and your trust. I'd generally view a woman who was chatting up other men as someone who didn't really want to be with me anyway so they'd get the flick.
