    Hi All,

first time posting on this sight. Just picked up running in the last 16 months. I have ran 3 half marathons, the phoneix park 09, Connemara 10 and kildare 10. I have signed up for the Kilomarathon in Moone in August. Has anyone else started training for this. I have fitted it in for my training for the full marathon in October.

with six weeeks to go i'm starting to push hard for this. I'm using it as training for the dublin marathon. I have never run over half marathon distance and after every half i have doen the tank has been empty. Any advice on how far i should go in training, i'm doing a 9 mile run tonight but i completed the connemara and kidare halfs in the last few weeks:)

With 16 weeks to go you still have time to increase the mileage a bit and still have time for a few weeks of speedwork to top up and then taper so I would be inclinced to at least do 15/16 miles but much slower than your half marathon effort. You just want to get the legs used to the distance once or twice so dont leave your best effort and energy on the training runs.
Just make sure you have fully recovered after the half's before you ramp up the miles another one or two

After running my 1st half marathon yesterday i want to build and i this race looks perfect !

I think i'll go for it as a building block for a good time at the Half in Longford at the end of August !

completed an 11.5 mile run yesterday at a slower pace than normal but i want to build it up slowly. The course i run has a few hills does anyone know if the race course is flat or hilly

Very little info out there as far as i can see.

I can't find a website and the only other info is a page on runireland site.

I like to know about the course as well.

Elvis - did you compete in the Sandstorm Multimarathon at Clontarf:D
That was my first effort at the half - what a wake up call on the return leg via the beach - mental

This looks like a real step up and good training guide for the full marathon... will have to see how my body recovers this week

I did indeed do the sandstorm half marathon. I'm confident I can do this with 5 weeks to prepare, I'll try to get and do 4 tomorrow. My problem after yesterday is sun burn !!! Any part that was exposed got it.

    In aug I'll have 16.6 m, 10 m and a half marathon so I'll be building nicely !!
