Cooling a small bedroom

Well my tower fan has finally gone on the blink and need a good solution.

My bedroom is quite small which seems to retain a lot of heat. Even though we are only at the start of the summer the room is unbearably hot. There are no windows in the room only double doors leading onto our balcony, my girlfriend doesn't like keeping these open at night, hence the room gets very hot.

We've tried a desktop fan (too loud) and have had a tower fan for about 2 years which worked quite well, but is now broken. I've looked at some options below, but are they any good:

    1) Ceiling Fan http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/4327923/Trail/searchtext%3ECEILING+FAN.htm

    2) Air Conditioner http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/4140485/Trail/searchtext%3EAIR+CONDITIONING.htm

I realise the Air Conditioner needs to be vented outside, so not really pushed on that. But is there any other solutions out there?

Run a dehumidifier before going to bed would work, just wear less blankets and or clothes.
Or open the doors and tell your gf tough sh!t.

We only have one sheet on top and only wear underwear. Do you really think a dehumidifier would work based on we've used a tower fan before?

Stick with what works, get another tower fan.
