You save electricity!!

Just noticed 7965 boards.ie users use the white settings, Did you know your monitor uses ???% less electricity when you switch to black settings.

Currently only 227 use the black settings - Come on - go Black and save the World!!

I already tried to reduce my carbon footstep by bying an electric car. Then I realised that it was virtually useless as there's no plug-in points in the North West, so I took out the windows, filled it with logs & now use it as a patio heater.

Apparently those savings are only with certain types of display. On most it doesn't take more to display white than black.

Turning the brightness (backlight) down would probably save a few watts.

Where's the all singing all dancing constantly using more electricity than it should endless distraction skin? For those of us who are angry at something but not sure what and know that only wasting electricity will help give them back their lost sense of control over the world.
Did you know if you leave the fridge door open for three days the fridge eventually breaks?

But it's so hard to get blacks to work. They seem to spend millions on getting the blacks blacker in LCD's but their still not as good as the top CRT's.
