Have one of these Laptops that I am giving to parents. Was installed with XP but did a clean install to clear all the crap. However when I reinstalled it the wireless adapter was not working? Went into network connections and there was no option? Had a old wireless adapter key and working from that.

When I bought the PC windows was installed and dont think I had any issue with this? Is there a driver I need to install or how can I check that there is a wireless adapter?

The details on the laptop are Here

Did you check in your Device Manager (might be missing driver). On Dell website download Broadcom drivers for your lappy.

Thanks for this. Found the original cd drive and tried that no joy. Also loaded the broadcom and chipset still no joy

Picture of device manager below no sign of a wireless card?

So in my opinion you have to install drivers for graphic card (it might be that one Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950 or ATI driver - follow your link and download Video driver)) and then restart your lappy to check is there any changes.

Also you can use one with the programs which gonna search your drivers (drivermagic http://www.symplisit.com/en/drivermagic.html , Uniblue DriverScanner 2009 )or program which will identified your drivers (http://www.halfdone.com/ukd/).

It might be helpful also http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-5494-network-controller-driver

Thanks. Tried all these but still no joy. Ran driver Magic but was still going about 2 hours later:confused:

Tried the other programs but not sure what to look for? Also looked at http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-5...troller-driver but some downloads deleted

    Still at a loss
