Right. I recently got a second hand one of these on boards, only to find out that after the third mag through it, it dies. Thinking it was just the battery, I recharged it, put it back in, and nothing. It still sounds like the battery is dead. There is absolutely no sound whatsoever coming out of it.

I have tried different batteries, and checked that the wires are connectedto the batter and motor, but they seem to be grand.

I am just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem, and if they also have a simple solution. I will try anything that doesn't involve touching the gearbox

Have you checked the fuse? It's probably just that.

No, I think that grand. The thin metal strip isn't broken, so if that means its OK, then it looks like it is

I'd double check the fuse - I had the same issue with one and it was the fuse - but looked perfect.

    How would you do that?

    Thanks, btw

Best to take it out to check it (careful not to break it) - you got a multimeter?
You could also just try briefly by-passing the fuse to see if it fires before you bother removing it.

When it stopped - did it just suddenly stop or was there any wierd sounds etc?

I'll give that a try tomorow. Its a bit late for electrocution.

Will bypassing the fuse not, oh I don't know, make the gun explode?

And no, it literally just stopped dead. It fired a birst of pellets, and then nothing. No weird sounds, no pops, nothing. Just silence...

You'll be ok. Not enough current to cook ya. Unless you're running it off the mains...

All you want to do is a quick check to see if it's the fuse. By passing it if the gun is siezed or something will probably fry your wiring but you dont want to leave it that long... just a fraction of a second.

If you're unsure of it - get someone else to check it for ya - rather than melt your gun...;)

    lol, mad mental picture there.

Defenderdude is right though, just bypass the fuse and see if the gun fires then, many guns done even have em so its not exactly dangerous. if it still doesnt fire then disconnect the battery immediately and reinstall the fuse, as its unlikely to be blown. Sometimes when they blow (well, more often than not really) they do so near the metal cap and you cant see the break in the filament, it appears to be fine from the outside.

If the fuse isnt your problem, remove the back plate and inspect the wiring that is going down the inside of the receiver. there's little spade connectors in there and they can often come loose from the vibration.

Lots of tamiya connectors act up also, check the wires are pushed in fully into them, I had plenty of guns just die because the battery isn't connected, so it could also be a possibility.

    Hi JDR,

Like the lads said try to bypass the fuse.

I had the same problem with my MP5K - stoppped dead in a game and after switching batts still wouldn't budge. Fuse was ok so opened her up when i got home.

I found the teeth had stripped from the bottom of the piston and had jammed it up so nothing could move.

Fitted a new piston and she's been right as rain since.

Proubley just faulty wiring or a break in a connection somewhere. My AK has been acting up lately. It's deffiently a lose connection, just can't locate it.

Also what was said about the tamiya is very true. You could just pop the gearbox out and the motor, and try running it when its out of the reciever. You should also be able to see where maybe there could be a problem :)

    Hi.
    1. remove the lid from the back of aeg you'll see the cable connections, check them, or
    2. check the connections on the motor, or
    3. pull the motor from the handle and then shoot, if working that means that it is too firmly pressed against the gear (Loosen the motor)
