H is the height of the sphere, hemisphere etc.

therefore is the height is 5

if the question is in terms of pye, you dont calculate pye in the question at all.

if "in terms of pye" isn't in the question you use pye.

so, in a calculator you type (pye)(radius)^2(h)

can someone help me the math problem and explain what happens to the 6 and the 4? really confused and know it is something simple but really need to understand why.

    Thanks

    6 x √3 a² = 3√3 a²
    4 2

    6 x √3 a² = 3√3 a²
    4 2

cant seem to get the equation to show properly but √3 is being divided by 4. And turns into √3 being divided by 2. Sorry for the confusion

    6/4 = 3/2 by cancellation, so
    6/4 x rt(3) a^2 = 3/2 x rt(3) a^2

you take out a common factor of 2 into 6 and 4 and the factors remaining are 3 and 2 respectively
