Octavia warning light.

Driving an 06 1.9 TDI octavia. Serviced in recent weeks. In the last 2 days the car started to shudder whilst driving, particularly at low speed. When speed is picked up the shuddering dies away but the max speed seems to be compromised as a result. 80kph is as much as I did. An engine warning light has come on and the driver manual says 'emission workshop'. Says its exhaust related and car should be driven 'gently' to the garage? Seems odd. Particularly as the service was recently done. Anyone else experience anything like this before?

Could be one of a number of known VAG issues around oxygen sensors. Mass Air Flow (MAF) meter, throttle body or Lambda senors all give problems on the TDi engine. The best thing to do is have the ECU fault code read by a garage with VAG-COM software.
