    Hi. I need to buy a laptop but find it a bit confusing when it comes to trying to make comparisons.

    Heres what I need in order of importance;

    1. As much Processing power as i can get for the money.
    2. As much memory as I can get for the money.
    3. Not as important but battery power
    4. 15" screen will be adequate.
    5. Around 320Gb drive will do me.

    What I don't need;
    - I'm not a gamer so average graphics card is fine
    - I'll take windows 7 - or if theres an opportunity to buy without OS, even better.
    - not bothered about which manufacturer (with maybe 2 exceptions).
    Budget: €500-€800 inclusive

    Any suggestions would be very welcome :)

    Personally I would steer clear of Acer having had a nightmare experience with a top end gemstone blue last year (eventually got a refund after solicitor threat). They generally score quite low in consumer satisfaction surveys along with HP.

    I'm liking the look of the Dells more and more lately. I have been a Dell booboy for years and years, but I think their specs and overall service level have definitely improved since I was a notebook owner 5 years ago.
