I'm fighting in 4 weeks time in a charity white collar Fight night. The opponents haven't been picked yet. However based on size etc I am pretty sure of who I will be facing on the night.

The person I am most likely fighting is roughly 6'6" or 6'7" (tallest fighting)
    I am 6'2.5". (second tallest)
we weigh about the same (he's quite slim).

I've sparred him a couple of times and he would clearly beat me on the night.
I find it near impossible to get inside his reach and get up close land a punch. From what I've seen in training he has a terribly week mid-section. If i could get inside his long reach I could take him down to my height and even things up.

Here's where i need your advice. Can anyone tell me how to get in close to him like that and make his much longer reach useless.

if you are fighting white collar then i take it you have no past experience with boxing there is no point in trying to learn a technique for slipping punchs in just 4 weeks my advice to you would be to watch Collins Vs Eubank 2,Youtube... Steve collins just charges forward smothering Eubank and giving him no breathing space nothing fancy just brute force and great fitness,
Who is training you for the white collar show? Just ask them to show you some basic head movements

Yeah I am fighting white collar. I have previous fighting experience 6.5 years kickboxing but its a bit different. I always had a good range with my legs and never fought anyone that much taller than me

When fighting a taller guy its a must to get in close and work inside right from the first bell get on top of him and smother him the more pressure you put on him the quicker he will get tired then you can have some fun charge forward with your hands up and your head moving shouldnt have a problem
