hey guys.. im dave, just got into the world of airsoft today bought my self a g&g gr15 raider blow back its a m4 repilica. ive got myself the gear now ive to get out and skirmish. just a few questions first off.

im fairly new to all this so im not up on the technical jargon as much but i understand a bit, im slowly reading through all the threads here for newbs which are helpful.

can i just arrive and shoot in the airsoft sites?
there would be two of us, are the rest of you airsofters friendly enough to let us join in? or are there set teams?
are there set rules on site for shooting? like no shooting point blank at people in the face etc? and are there different games or just run around and shoot like crazy?

appoligies if these topics have been covered, im just slowly reading through all the other threads and have not come across these yet.

    thanks, dave

welcome to the world of airsoft.

most sites allow you to turn up and skirmish and most of the teams/regulars are very friendly and helpful. but not all. best bet is turn up to a skirmish and see how ya get on. Andy

    Welcome to airsoft,
your wallet and bank account are now screwed.
When you get to the sites you pay for your days gaming and then all the players are given a safety briefing, you will be told the rules on blind fire, point blank shooting, etc. After this you will be split into teams and the games will start, you are told the rules for each game before it starts (respawns, objectives, etc).
    Ger.

I only took it up recently..just basically showed up at LAC where everyone made me feel very welcome...
having a VFC Scar-L was a big help as it drew lots of questions from ppl :D
And PS..you'd want to be fit ;) it's tough going out there :p

Welcome Dave. As a relative newbie skirmisher, some advice I'd give is:
    - look at the websites for all the skirmish sites you can find, as some have very good descriptions of protocols and rules
    - keep to the rule "If you wouldn't like it done to you, then don't do it to someone else" :)
    - Generally, I believe one should try and aim for body shots anyway, face hits should only ever be accidental.
    - Some places like Moyvalley Airsoft Zone actually designate Sunday as a day for non-team airsofters, which is where a mate and I have been turning up to for a few months now.
    - If you need supplies, try looking here at the adverts section. I've met a lot of good folks, and gotten a lot of good advice when buying mags/holsters etc to build my loadout.

See you in the tall grass...

Welcome! I myself am new to airsoft. I started playing at Fingal Airsoft myself and found the lads out there to be very friendly and helpful. Had a right few laughs the first skirmish there!

I know come sites (Like Red Barn) require you to pay a membership fee + game fee before you play for your first time.

Most sites will explain all the rules of engagement to you when you arrive (being your first time)

Theres generally two teams and often you'll get actual Airsoft squads turning up to play with their fellow squadmates but Im sure they'll let you tag along and ask questions.

    Hope it helps :)
