People In History Question?

Okay, I know that I should know this already, but what is the format for a people in history question?

In 2nd year, we did them as "My name is.. I am a.." etc, but when we got a new teacher in 3rd year, he said not to do this.

Now, we're basically just writing an account based on the topic. I'm not sure if he's right tbh, because it's a "people in history" question and doing it his way, we're not really doing it about a person.

Can anyone just clarify this for me? :)

Our history teacher gives us some in first person, and others would be writing about the topic.
Not sure if this is any help, but anyways!

Shouldn't be written in the first person unless you're asked to write about the day of a viking or something. If you're asked to write about an artist or an explorer or something use the third person.

I think you're meant to pretend you are the person but I never did tbh and I never lost marks over it.
Coz if you're saying "hi my name is" theres so much more room for rambling and story telling when they just want facts.

But yea I normally just the describe the life of a person in such a time :)

We do it like: "Christopher Columbus was an explorer during the Age of Exploration. He was born in Genoa, Italy, and had a passion for sailing."

That's how I've learned all mine.

that's how it should be done for Christopher Columbus but say it is...write about a person who lost land during a plantation you would write "Hi I'm Michael Fitzgerald blah blah blah" :D

Predictions for this years people in history??

    Yep, that's right!

If you're doing Ordinary Level like I did, the PIH section is so predictable. I learnt off about 8 essays and 4 of them came up, out of the 5 we get to choose between. Just go through the papers and find the sequence of what comes up and how often.

I don't think they have asked about Rome in years  I think it's because people may have studied another ancient civilization such as Ancient Greece (i think), ah shur i've an essay prepared on a person in Rome anyway :pac:

Irish politicians  I refuse to even learn an essay on any of them...hate irish history

Explorations is wayy overdue for Q5 hasn't been up since 2005, q5 usually goes in cycles, reformation, plantation, exploration, industrial revolution and plantations...since 2005 all of the others have come up so look out for explorations :D:D nice and easy :p

Irish politicians?!Our history teacher skipped all those chapters sayin we wouldn't need them, ach, she's a tit:mad:

Do you HAVE to write them in the first person?I hate doing it,makes me feel like I'm back in primary school..
"hi I'm *blank* and today i had spaghetti for dinner..":pac:
BTW,what are the chances of the industrial and agricultural revolution comin up?
Missed loads of time when we were doing those..and theres so much to know!:(

No you don't have to :pac: But i actually find it way easier to write, plus there's 4 marks per essay goin for how it is written, so by waffling and writing it well I should get them :D We did the Irish history just not the Northern ireland. Your teacher shouldn't have skipped it  It has NEVER happened but they could suprise us by putting Irish history as question 5...unlikely though
