Can you put Humax radio recordings onto cd?

I have some radio recordings on my Humax and i'd love to archive them onto cd.

Does anyone know how to do this? I have already tried copying and pasting the files directly onto my small Sony mp3 player but the files will not play, i must also need to convert the files but haven't a clue what is the best way to do this.

    Any info appreciated.

I imagine you'll have to transfer the video stream to your pc then convert/extract the audio to a more manageable format like mp3.

Depending on how the receiver encapsulates the .ts files, it can be trickier with some models over others. The following is long-winded but usually works:

    1. VLC Media Player : Media ->Convert/Save -> Load .ts file
    2. Under outputs, tick 'File' and browse to an output directory and input a name e.g. C:\out.mpa
    3. Under 'Encapsulaton' tick MPEG-PS
    4. Under 'Audio Codec' tick Audio. Codec = MPEG Audio. Click 'Save'
    5. Install Super
    6. Set 'Output Container' to 'MP3 Audio Only' and 'Output audio codec' to MP3. Drag the .mpa file to the lower window. Hit encode.

If you want to burn an audio CD, then change to outputs to WAV.

Another option is to buy a DVD player or radio/CD player that has a usb port and which will play mp3 files. This is a much faster solution as you can take the mp3 audio off the .ts file directly.

Normally I only archive TV progs from the Humax but I'll do a radio programme when I get home and report back on some other software options that offer quick solutions.

Most satellite transmissions in Europe use MPEG 1 Layer II for audio. They never transmit in mp3 afaik.
