I have this landlord trouble, I mean he is the nicest guy I know, great craic lovely guy to talk to but he has a designated place in the house especially for him that we agreed to in the contract. this place is locked to us. However he has left the light on now for two days straight, in this place and we texted him about it to which he says ''I'll deal with it in the morning'' and today is the second day of having this light on all the way through the night and still no sign of him.

by the way we pay for the electricity, do you think we should charge him some of the bill?

    Are you from Cavan?

Maybe he has the Fritzl kids over for the weekend.

Jesus, get something else to worry about you fcuking hippy. A lightbulb.

SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN CARBON

Multiply the wattage of the bulb that is on by the number of hours it has been on and divide by 1000. That is the kWh (kilo watt hours). 1kWh costs about 12 cent.

If it is a 100watt bulb on for 48 hours it is 4.8kWh, about 60 cent.

Ring Lucy Kennedy, she'll arrive at the house and refuse to leave unless he makes The Big Switch.

Either that or he's got kids in there making wallets or jeans................make sure he gives you some freebies.

They are even cheaper to run than ordinary incandescent bulbs. Still not going to cost more than a euro or two.

If it is in a separate building then there might be a separate fuse/trip switch for it - turn the power to the building off at the fuse box.

If its a shed I'm sure it has a separate switch on the fuse box, just flick it off.

Hold on. He has a room that only he can use and doesn't pay any part of the ESB bill. You should move.

OP, a light bulb uses feck all electricity so I really don't see your problem.

In light of that,I don't see the reason for this thread either.
