    Wrong forum

3G is not Broadband. Only a limited number of connections are possible and phone calls have priority. It's a Mobile phone network.

It's fast dialup, not an always on Broadband. This is normal

/me puts hand down boot and pulls out a big knife..

Call that Broadband? (see posts here for 3G /Mobile/HSPA)

This is Wireless Broadband (at peak time!).

Note "ping" is nearly x5 better than 3G Mobile.

It's ALWAYS connected. This is as bad as it ever gets.

It is completely mis-sold as broadband but it is not. The sad thing is that most people don't know better. It is technologically impossible for a live 3G network to offer anything equivalent to broadband, unless there is only one person in the cell, which is unlikely.

actually you have to be within 20% of the radius of the cell edge AND be the only person to get Broadband speed. Cell edge speed is only 120kbps if there is only one person connected!

Of course as people join (voice calls or data!), the cell shrinks! This is another reason to drop connections, not just capacity.
