A common misconception, a Pro IEM rig can be got for €700. Of course you'll want to upgrade the headphones to something better than the standard issue which can be pretty lame.

OP, last week you're asking about wedges, this week it's IEMs, why don't you be more specific in what it is you are trying to achieve because these "one line wonder" threads will not get you the answers you seek.

But if it's really just the short answer you want, well here it is: "It depends". :)

Main prob is loss of gig vibe....

For 17 years of standing in front of amps and noisy crowds I went to listening to my tinnitus and a not so ideal mix in my in ears, I run a 31 band graphic across my in ears as they sound pretty pants, but all I hear is the band I find I cant get into the gig at all without being fake :(

also everytime I put my foot up on my in ears they break :D :P

They take some getting used to alright. Generally, Singers love them whereas the fussy Muso is a pluckier breed to try convert.

Overall tho, I'm of the opinion that IEMs are the way forward and any band considering making the move would be making a wise decision.

Can't beat a good wedge tho.

Thanks for the info Savman and apologies for the "one line wonder". I thought the "Any thoughts or suggestions, pros or cons on using in ear monitors vs standard stage monitors??? " question was fairly self explanatory and to the point.

Anyway basically I'm looking for easiest option in stage monitors. At the moment we are using old Dynacord Corus line wedges which are probably out dated at this stage and are also very big and bulky. I've been looking at the Dynacord AM12 or M12 monitirs which seem to be getting good reviews. Where would people recommend for purchases??
