When I was in Nenagh last month, I was looking at the plans they have posted on the wall for a substantial upgrade of the facilities down there as well. anybody know if this is wishful thinking or are concrete plans afoot to upgrade the Nenagh facilities ?

And Leevale apparantly have aspirations for indoor facilities of some sort.

Great (if it comes to pass) and long overdue. Funny how the cash was probably there 10 years ago (viz Landsdowne Road) but these projects are being looked at only now. As the article in the Indo infers maybe it can be done at half the price these days.

It may also spur on Nenagh (and maybe Clonliffe/Santry) to upgrade their basic facilities as well.

Realistically though those these places need to be self-supporting as they're hardly likely to be subsidised. I just wonder how that great centre in Magharafelt works out finance-wise

I have heard it is more than an aspiration. Apparently they sold their clubhouse during the boom and plans are at an advanced stage for their indoor arena.

I have heard exactly the same from some Leevale members.

With AIT, Leevale and possibly Nenagh we could have 3 High quality indoor tracks in a few years. Sweet

Would be great to have indoor facilities in a more centeral location like Athlone, some terrific work being done down there in the AIT. Looking forward to it.:)
