    Lady Sovereign has confirmed reports that she is lesbian.

    The singer, who was once labelled Jay-Z's protégé after signing a record deal with US label Def Jam, admitted that she would have come out sooner if publicists had not persuaded her to keep it a secret.

    In an interview with Diva magazine, she said: "Magazines would always ask about [my sexuality] but [they] would get stopped by my publicists. It was my choice, too, because I was a bit worried about it - but now I don't really give a s**t.

    "You can't hide away forever. It's just stupid and now I've come out I feel a lot more comfortable with myself. But it was a bit scary back then, because some people do have horrible opinions."

    Sovereign, real name Louise Harman, fuelled rumours about her sexuality after admitting to having slept with women when she appeared on last year's Celebrity Big Brother.

    So, she said last year that she slept with women and now she claims that she's coming out! Why is this news?

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    But if ever I need a picture of a skanky female chav, I'll know which thread to search for. Maybe her coming out will make it easier for other chavs?:cool: Obviously there are gay chavs on the scene, but not that many.

    I would never touch a chavvy girl in real life, but she's always been a 'guilty pleasure' of mine.

    Glad she finally came out, even though it was obvious from Day one that she preferred Martha's to Arthur's:D

    I can actually kinda relate to her.

    Anyway just wanted to ask..some of yee said there that you "could tell" and it was "obvious" that she is gay.. How could you tell!?
