channels ok on fta receiver but not sky box

Have a dish pointing at astra for the last year, have a 3 year old sky hd box and a cheapo teviom fta receiver hooked up to it.

Never had a prob with sky before, all channels tuned perfect picture. Then earlier this week started having problems with bbc hd and sky news. tried some dish alignment tweaking but have only got worse, i would say half the channels not working now. the signal strength and quality indicators look high but no transponder lock. Odd thing is that all of these channels work perfectly on the tevion box. i checked cable by plugging sky box into usual tevion lnb output.

no amount of dish tweaking or lnb skew adjustment is getting me a picture on some channels on the sky box. separate to that, the sig strength indicators on the sky box do not update as the dish is moved or even disconnected. wondering if this is possibly my sky box on the way ot.

any ideas? i am using an audio in line sat finder that came with the aldi tevion freceiver. dish and quad lnb came from tony.

Just to reiterate, sky news for example is 100% perfect pic with sig str and qual higher thsn 70 on the tevion, but will not tune on sky hd box even on the same lnb output and cable.

If using a Sky Hd box with the new software guide on it. You will need 2 active feeds on the box or it will show no satellite signal but will show the tv guide and time etc.

If you only have one feed available then do the following

press services
Press 0,1 select to enter secret installer menu.

Turn on single satellite feed, sky box will reset and will hopefully work for you..

sounds like it.
could it be a thompson box? may need a new power supply .

Satcure do kits with new capacitors or you can send back yours for a referb.
