Does anybody know the minimum level for thermoduric in milk samples?

I know the TBC has to be under 50 so I assume the thermoduric has to be under this as well or are the 2 tests carried out by 2 different methods? I always thought they only did TBC and that thermoduric was covered under this umbrella test for all bacteria.

Got a text on my phone today about it so rang up kerry to see what the story was
Its ok once it is under 1000 and from next year on there will be another fine on milk price if you go over this.
Its a test for a type of bacteria that Pasteurization does not kill.
It seems every year now there are more ways to take money form us with new regalations and fines:rolleyes:

Thermoduric less than 1000 cells and TBC less than 500 or 300 for premium grades

    50 or 30 for TBC.

At 500 or 300 if you opened the tank the milk would walk in for processing:pac:

Thermo is 1000 in Kerry with no immediate plans to change, TBC 50 and scc 400 for manufacturing milk. I think scc is due to come down to 300 from next spring but haven't heard anything about TBC being brought down, yet.

Liquid milk had lower level needed, something around the figures you're quoting alright.
