Can anyone tell me the approximate amount of time a uk visitors firearms permit would take to process?

Looking to nip over there at the end of the month...can't wait till the seasons start up here!

All depends on your contact in the uk. Our contact in Scotland can go directly to a senior police officer and have it back in two weeks when needed.

Agree with the above, mine just back today and took just over 2 weeks.

All the estimates above are quite correct but there will be minor differences between different Constabularies. Your quickest option is to ring a major police station in the area where you're visiting and ask to speak to one of the firearms people ( they're often civilian staff ). If they're able to fax you the application forms you've already gained a few days.
