Magpul 75rd PMAG problem

After getting my AEG awhile back (KWA M4), I ordered one 75rd STAR Magpul PMAG (Black) as a test to see if it would work with the gun as I had heard that the KWA M4 didn't like mid caps. I got it and ran it through the gun a few times and didn't have any problem with it bar the odd miss fire.

After knowing it worked and really liking the mags I ordered 10 more 75rd ones in Foliage Green and none of them work right. They feed one bb into the chamber then none after that unless I give the mag a little nudge up. Like 1mm up and the mag works fine, no miss fires, they work every time when I do this.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get around this? It's really frustrating me! I think the problem is the mag is not opening up right to feed the bb's into the chamber.

Seen this and it says they work, obviously not. http://www.kwausa.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45&st=0

Any help is much appreciated as I would rather not sell them on.

You have to file off a bit of the mag to make it fit better, I think. That's what it sounds like to me at least

same thing happens with my star pmags in a sportline, feeds a few bbs then yoou have to push it up a tiny amount and you can hear more bbs getting pushed up, i havent tried it yet but perhaps if you rap a layer of selotape around the part of the mag catch that engages the mag it might keep it help up that extra bit
    best of luck:)

Ive figured out what it was and they work fine now. Easy enough fix but still a pain in the hole.
They fit fine in my gun so that wasnt the problem.
The problem is the catch that holds the bb's in at the top of the mag is to large. When in the gun, its not getting pushed the whole way back to allow a solid stream of bb's into the gun. What I did was heat a scalpel blade/ X-acto knife and cut 1 to 2 mm off it, just enough to still hold the bb's and spring in but once in the gun its pushed away allowing the bb's to run freely into the gun. They all work perfect now, no miss feeds.

Be very careful when doing this as:
1: You can burn or cut yourself very badly if your not careful enough. Knife gets extremely hot and those blades are ridiculously sharp.
2: Be very careful NOT TO CUT TO MUCH of the catch away! If you do this, the mag will be broken as it wont be able to hold the bb's in at all and they will just spray out of it every where.

I was lucky enough that I didnt break any of mine (one is very close but still works).

Best of luck if you decide to do this and be VERY careful.

Any chance you could post a pic of the cut section of the mag? I have exactly the same setup and I've noticed that I do sometimes have to hold the mag up from the bottom when firing on semi-auto.

That'd be great thanks. No real need for the before pics as i can just compare your after pics to the mags I have and count off the grooves on the tabs.

Ok I did this really quick as I have to go to work.

Just cut 1 to 2mm off the catch. Just enough to keep the spring and bb's in. Anymore and you will break it.
Sorry for the size but you can kinda see what i cut this way.
