Pacific - African-Americans?

    Hi.

    Anybody have any idea why there's no black actors in this show???

    Historically, there were very few african americans serving in that theatre

    Well for one I'm almost certain I've seen black soldiers in some of the battle scenes, they wouldn't be main characters because strictly speaking the majority of fighting done in the pacific and European theatres for the U.S. was by white soldiers because the military was segregated.

    They were usually part of their own regiments (infantry regiments, the buffalo soldiers). I know that two of these regiments, 24th and 25th infantry regiments, were at Guadalcanal anyway.

    This very issue was raised by Clint Eastwood when Spike Lee was whinging that there werent enough black actors in Flags of our Fathers, "because they werent there!"

    All I've seen so far is a few black soldiers in the clips at the start where they show some actual real footage with the veterans describing their time there.

    Come to think of it, there weren't many black actors in band of brothers either was there? If any??
