Anyone know if the interviews for mature applicants have happened yet?
I sat the aptitude test last month and haven't heard anything since.

Just wondering if I've missed the boat.

I have not heard back from the aptitude test yet, i just persumed I didnt get it, Im suprised I have not got a letter stating that though.

I have an interview for another course in nui galway next week so they are holding interviews, im sooo nervous this is my number 1 choice.

You should ring admissions to find out about the aptitude test results etc?

maybe no news is good news.
I'd imagine we would get a rejection letter if nothing else.

I hope so, NUI are usually later than most universities to hold interviews I think.

I didnt even know they did interviews after the test, just thought they picked the best and then judged on the documents sent to the cao.

    Is arts your 1st choice?

I am just presuming their will be interviews because there were so many applicants doing the aptitude tests.

Arts in NUIG s my first choice but the competition is so fierce I honestly can't see me being accepted.

ah dont think like that, many people dont have arts down as their number 1, arts in galway was atleast my number 5 so obviously they would rule me out over you.

Anyways maybe if you move your question into the 'mature and non-traditional student' section, you may be able to get more answers?

They don't know what place you have put a course down as on your CAO,.
They only know that you have applied.

oh I didnt know that

Are there other ways/courses you could get/do to the profession you want?

I started first year arts as a mature student at NUIG last September. We didnt have to do any interviews, aptitude test and cao application were the only requirements. At a guess, I'd say we got our replies from NUIG towards the end of May/start of June so you shouldn't have too wait much longer. Although delays would be understandable due to the rise in applications from mature students this year. They would have to notify you if you don't get it so expect a reply either way. Best of luck to all who have applied.

Cheers lebowski11 thats good to hear.
Are you doing Arts Omnibus or a speciality?

I think everyone has to do the omnibus for the first year of arts. I'll specialise in history from second year onwards...depending on first year results of course... which are out in about 15 minutes.
