I have a feeling that those who created the Nominations list watched around 10 movies last year....

*shudder* The best Male/Female performance awards should be renamed "Who do you fancy?"

I'm pretty sure 50% of the categories in the MTV awards are made up to win more awards for whoever is, like, so hot right now.

This can be proven by the amount of nominations Jennifer's Body gets.

Also: both Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock nominated for the Proposal. BUT ITS SO HARD TO CHOOSE.

Gah, why did I click into this thread. Why? I knew reading those nominations would just make me annoyed, don't know why I bring it on myself really ...

I'd rather eat my own vomit than care about the MTV Awards...

I only watch the "comedy" introduction where they take the piss out of whatever movie is big at the mo'........probably be Avatar mixed with Twilight this year :pac:

Man, that was 7 years ago!?! I remember watching this bit on TV!! :(

Comedian Aziz Ansari has signed to host this year's MTV Movie Awards.

The Parks and Recreation star will serve as master of ceremonies for the 19th annual event, reports Deadline Hollywood.

"I'm so happy Ronnie from Jersey Shore was unavailable and this exciting opportunity was able to come my way," said Ansari.

The awards ceremony, produced by Survivor creator Mark Burnett, will air live on MTV on June 6 from the Gibson Ampitheatre in Universal City, CA.

I actually welled up looking at those nominees, and it wasn't out of joy.

Actually, who is presenting this year? I remember ages ago Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar did a pretty damn good job.

Aziz Ansari is very funny.. but I don't think he'll suit the MTV Awards.

PS - those nominations are beyond horrid!

What the...? Can there even be a best Global superstar? :p

The nominations look like they'll appeal to the same demographic as twilight and what not does.

    GLOBAL SUPERSTAR

    Robert Pattinson
    Kristen Stewart
    Taylor Lautner
    Johnny Depp
    Daniel Radcliffe

    I'm sorry but WHAT? Seriously.

The only one in that list who should be even considered a superstar is Johnny Depp and maybe Daniel Radcliffe (for the fact that at least he has moved away from the usual Harry Potter stuff in the December Boys and that stage show. Robert Pattinson was in Remember Me and yes, he wasn't a vampire but he was still pale and moody and scruffy, so not much of a stretch there) but knowing the way the MTV awards go, it'll be Robert Pattinson.

Who the hell is Taylor Lautner?

.. Taylor Lautner is a guy.

Sandra Bullock is to be honoured with the 'Generation Award' at this year's MTV Movie Awards.

The actress will make her first public appearance in months to accept the prize in person, reports MTV News.

"Sandra is one of those rare individuals who is adored by our audience as both an actress and a role-model," said MTV's general manager Stephen Friedman.

"Recognising her remarkable talent, amazing range of films and her visceral connection to our audience around the globe, we are honoured to present her with our MTV 'Generation Award'."

The ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 6.

Lads yoy're all taking these nominations a bit seriously, its for kids/teens, its not a serious awards show, and it knows this.

Agreed.....for years this has been for the teen demographic.

The two main male characters from twilight nominated as best global superstar...how can you outrage and not laugh it off and let the kiddies have their fun ;)

I'll watch this alone for Aziz Ansari. Hopefully he'll come as RAAAAAAAANDY at some stage too.

The MTV awards seem to exist solely to make the Empire awards look a little respectable.

Best WTF moment was owned by Herzog this year, when he randomly shows this painting in Encounters at the End of the World:

    EAEW_monkey.png

Yeah, it makes no sense in context either.

I call shenanigans on MTV for not giving Herzog the award over that stupid bit in the Hangover.

What? That girl from Twilight won best breakout star. Balls. If anything that girl from Precious should have won - and I don't think she was even nominated!

The whole thing is just a Twilight arselicking contest.
