(I guess Slidey is the right man to answer this one)
Just wondering, when testing a LGV, does the 1.6mm tread depth rule apply, or is a stricter limit enforced? i.e. can a tester reasonably fail a vehicle with 1.8 or 2.0 or 2.5 mm tread depth, or is 1.6mm the limit?

The DOE manual states less than 1.6mm will result in a fail.

1.6 is the limit across 75% of the central thread pattern of the tyre.

HGV test now has an option of a fail advisory, can't think what that limit is at the mo, could be 3mm.

    Hope that helps
