I'd expect it to be going black within a week.....
But it depends what the product says to expect..

You should start to see it turn black after about a week but it can take longer to kill it off completely. Also from past experience with lawn moss, and I presume you are talking about lawn moss, if you miss patches with the feed and weed for example, then the moss will quickly grow back.

What worked for me was to mix a bag of horticultural sand together with topsoil. About 4 to 1 sand to topsoil (get it in a DIY or garden center) Once it's mixed do the following...

All over your lawn, get a garden fork and stick it in the ground and lightly lift the lawn as if you want to dig it up, but don't of course. Do this all over the place. The reason is to decompact the lawn. Then spread the sand and topsoil mixture over the lawn and rake or sweep it over so it covers the lawn. The sand and topsoil will go down the holes you just made and help to break up the clay and add drainage in the lawn. The drainage will help prevent moss coming in the first place. Then make sure that the moss that's left is covered by the sand and topsoil. This will kill off the moss. Then if you had a lot of moss, you will see a lot of gaps or bald patches, get some lawn seed and prinkle them around and lightly rake them in and water. That's it. No more moss. Just make sure that you cut the grass before doing this since once you plant the seed, you need to STAY OFF the lawn for a couple of weeks at least and don't cut the grass again until the new grass is a couple of inches.
    Best of luck.
    Mike
