At the moment i have the free sat in my living room ive had it for about 3 years now. What i was wondering is if i got another free sat box can i connect this to my portable tv in the kitchen somehow by useing some sort of splitter.
my lnb on my satellite only has one conection..If not possible to use a splitter does this mean i have to change the lcb on my satellite if so is this easy to do or do i need a expert.I basicly just want to get the free sat channels on my kitchen portable all help is great thanks

you can't plsit the cable, each box needs its own fit from the dish. so you need a quad lnb on the dish, is pretty easy to do if you can get at the dish. then run a separate cable from one of the extra lnbs down to your new box and thats it

Not sure about the splitter option to be honest. Someone else will no doubt come up with an answer for you on that.

If it isn't possible, you would probably have to change the LNB on the dish to a twin (or a quad if you wanted to go to other rooms in the future). Never done this myself, but from what i can remember from reading threads on here before, it isn't that difficult a job to do. Of course, if that's the way you decide to go, you would need a separate freesat box for your tv in the kitchen (I presume).

I heard myself and looked on you tube it dont seem to hard to change the lnb.
I have a go at changing it myself next weekend im lucky my sat is on the front of my house so my ladders will reach..Oh and i need a hole through the wall unless the new cable will fit through the hole.

If picture is good currently and the dish doesnt need re-aligning changing the lnb is easy.

Be careful not to move the dish while doing the work as re-aligning can be a pain.

When getting the Quad LNB ensure that it matches the lnb holder of the existing dish.

Might be best to take the LNB with you to make sure it matches.

There is a special bracket for the sky mesh dish lnbs and if its a solid general dish there are a few different collar sizes on lnbs, especially on quad ones.

Also while you are up there and if there is room feed in a 3rd or 4th one into attic. Will spare time the next time.
