broken cpu fan bracket tab thing

    Hello all

Following a PSU failure earlier tonight I was taking it out ever so carefully and then the CPU fan seemed to move. I knew that wasn't right so investigated and the CPU fan lockdown mechanism has broken one of the little tabs on the bracket underneath that it locks onto, on the locking side...

    It's not my day.

So after hours of cursing and thinking I've come up with no solution
    except buying a new CPU..

    Any suggestions or help?

    Here's the system..

AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition Quad-Core
    2.5 GHz, 4MB Cache, Socket AM2+, 125w
    Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H, AMD 780G+SB700,
    HDMI, Socket-AM2+, m-ATX, PCI-Ex(2.0)x16
    Antec NSK3480-EC Micro ATX Tower,
    92mm fans, 380W PSU
    Corsair TWIN2X 6400C5DHX DDR2, 4096MB
    Kit w/two CL5 2GB Dimm's, E.P.P and DHX
    Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA2
    32MB 7200RPM

    Thanks

    :/

It's the black square bracket (I took the cpu fan off), which is part of the gigabyte motherboard.. The black tab on the top side has broken off. The bracket is stuck on to board with 4 plastic screws.

Anyway just wondering if and where I can buy that specific part.

    Three options:

    1) Buy a new mobo
    2) Buy one of these from somewhere
    3) Cable ties + superglue! :D
