Fireproof board

We're putting a solid fuel stove in and putting stone cladding around and above it. In the flue entrance there is a gap above the stove between the two lintels that needs to be filled with fireproofboard so the surface for cladding will be flush with the lintels.

We were originally going to use timber here to fix the cladding to but were told this wouldn't be safe. Can't remember the name of the fireproof board though, does anyone know or advise where we could get it?

    Thanks

I built 2 "metal stud" fireplaces recently for a guy and both were double boarded with 15mm gypsum fireline plasterboard (pink in colour).

PM me if you want to know where I bought the materials - was in dublin.

I heard that pink board made from gypsum is only good enough for 1 hour and is no where safe enough. I have heard of Superlux been a cemenmt based product which is a safer bet.
MFceiling - will the heat from the flue and stove not crack the pink board in time and be a fire hazard??

Never heard of the board cracking due to excess heat.
It's used a lot for fire corridors, ceilings etc to provide a fire break or to contain a fire.
I saw recently a case of a guy who lost his roof to fire where he slabbed his fire breast with insulated board...he knew something wasn't right when it started to burn but when he put his hand to the board he couldn't feel excess heat!!
Try looking at the gypsum specs on their website...it's the white book and it's in PDF format.
