Help it's my first time posting

I got a playstation, and 3 internet, and when I try to connect it says that the Ip address has timed out what do I do??

I followed the instructions on youtube, in manage network connections I've "1.3g" set to shared, with the top two boxes ticked. All the playstation settings are set to automatic where possible.

I accidentally changed one of the ip address settings in network connections from numbers already entered to detect automatically, is this the problem??
