    My friend has an iphone and he says he has an app on it and that if he types in my mobile number he can find my location. Is this possible and if so is it legal?? Would it not be considered to invade on ones privacy??:confused:

    No its an app and it doesnt actually work, the thing is generally if a friend is asking the owner of the iphone this question they're close, so the owner of the iphone sticks in the number and on the "radar" you pop up...

    there is an app that will do this provided that your friends also use it and agree to be located.

    i think there is an app that works like this, my sister was using it recently in a game of hide and seek in a hotel, she was able to find all of them using it and they all don't have iphones....

    Back in 2002 ago O2 trialled a location based service that users could locate each other. Both parties had to sign up via text. Here is a thread on it:
