18 months ago Simon Evans and Fearghal O'Nuallain both from Greystones, set out to circumnavigate the world ....

    on bicycles

30,000 kilometres later, they are returning to Greystones to what should be a heroes' welcome on Saturday

3.00pm cyclists will leave Blackrock College for a Massive Charity Cycle (in aid of 'Aware') to Greystones.

5.00pm Arrival at Greystones, completing the first Irish circumnavigation of the globe by bike.

Tarja(Olympic MTBer) from AllMoutainExperience will be giving a cycling skills seminar on a course set up in the Rugby Club Grounds.

Great Outdoors will be exhibiting gear and giving away a 4 person tent!

    Live music from 'Blind Yacketty'
    DJ Louis
    Barbecue and a full bar.

Signs up about this at various entry points to Greystones

Have a look at there website which details their fabulous journey

Will they be coming down Windgates or coming out the N11 to the Southern Acccess Route ?

From the map on this link, it looks like they are coming home through Windgates, like true 'local boys made good'

I had been following their journey on and off and just saw the signs myself on Windgates earlier in the week.

I was only reading about them a while back. One of them got attacked while cycling through Iran. yikes!!

Fair play though, I'm short of breath after climbing the stairs on the 84x, don't even mention the world :)
