Using A Behringer BCD2000

A friend of mine just gave me his old Behringer BCD2000 and i was trying to work it with Tracktor, but just can't manage. Tracktor works fine and I set up all the settings (Audio, MIDI etc) to use the BCD, but it's still working away as if I never had a mixing table. Nothing on the Behringer works to control Tracktor.

I'm very new to this thing, is there another program I can use for mixing music or is there a way I can get Tracktor to work with this mixing desk?

    Cheers!

Traktor does get some getting used to. To start off I'd recommend VirtualDJ. It does everything, well nearly everything, Traktor does but its much more user friendly.

Have you mapped it all out? i.e. tell traktor what all the knobs and buttons do?

By mixing desk to you mean the Behringer? For starters, it's not a mixing desk, it's a MIDI controller.

The controller needs to have a file which tells Traktor what the buttons do. You can either download these files or make them yourself. To make them, go preferences - controller manager. In there you pick the action you want, hit learn, then touch the button/knob, and it'll work. There's loads of youtube videos.

There'll most likely be some ready made files online for your controller. They're called .tsi files, and once you find one, download it, in preferences go to import at the bottom left, and check the .tsi file. That'll load all the mappings for your controller.

    Quick google found one: http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showpost.php?p=453025&postcount=10
