    Rookies came out for eliminations.
Michael Tarver and Daniel Bryan were eliminated for comments they made last week. Matt Striker announced the pros poll would occur later and another rookie will be eliminated tonight.
    1. Wade Barrett defeated Heath Slater. Very good match with Barret winning and picking up decent heat.
    2. Skip Sheffield over Darren Young. Sheffield won in a good match. Sheffeild was booed a lot, which surprised me.
There was a backstage interview with Michael Tarver and Daniel Bryan.
    3. David Otunga beat Justin Gabriel. Quick back and forth match with Otunga getting the victory.

Pro poll: in order of 1-6
    1. Wade Barrett.
    2. David Otunga.
    3. Justin Gabriel.
    4. Heath Slater.
    5. Darren Young.
    6. Skip Sheffield, who was eliminated.
Daniel Bryan, Michael Tarver, and Skip Sheffield were all eliminated during the show, which has concluded.

    SD
Kofi Kingston defeated Christian to win the Intercontinental Title. This match alone will make Friday's show worth watching. The crowd was into it the whole time. Kofi won with Trouble in Paradise.
After the match, Drew McIntyre came out and handed a letter to Teddy Long. After reading the letter, Teddy asked Kofi for the title. Kofi initially refused to give it to him, but eventually gave in. Teddy gave the title belt back to McIntyre, who was pretty much booed out of the building. They wasted a great match. Kofi stood in the ring fuming after Drew left for a couple minutes before leaving.
After commercial, Matt Striker read the letter and was booed completely. Everyone is pissed over this. WWE did a great job generating heat.
Shad Gaspard beat a local wrestler. Total squash match that went on longer than it should have. The crowd was pretty dead for it until the end. Shad got more cheers than heat, which is not good if they want him to be a monster heel.
Letter Update: The letter that McIntyre presented to Long stated that Teddy is irresponsible and abused his power. It also stated that McIntyre is a gentleman who signifies what the future of WWE is. Per the letter, McIntyre is reinstated to the active roster and is once again recognized as the Intercontinental Champion. It was signed by Vince McMahon.
MVP and JTG beat The Dudebusters. The crowd was behind JTG and MVP. They had no idea of who the Dudebusters were. MVP and JTG won when MVP hit what seems to be a new finisher.
After tag match they showed the Straight Edge Society. Punk preached about how he saw doubt in them and that they weren't coming to ringside for his match against Rey Mysterio tonight.
Crew members set up Jack Swaggers trophies.
Swagger came out for his presentations of his trophies. He delivered a long promo that was actually pretty good. He gained a lot of heat from it, booed constantly.
The Big Show came out and was cheered incredibly. The crowd was into Big Show big time and kept booing swagger. Show proceeded to touch and break swaggers trophies. Swagger tried to attack Show, but was thrown out of the ring. Show went on to smash all of the trophies while Swagger watched from outside of the ring. Show then punted swaggers football into the crowd After destroying everything, Show posed with the World Title as Swagger flipped out on the outside.
They continued to hype Rey Mysterio vs. C.M. Punk.
Teddy Long came out and announced Show vs. Swagger for the World Hvt. Championship, which will probably be the dark match.
Beth Phoenix vs. Rosa Mendes was up next. The hometown girl returned (Beth Phoenix) and received the biggest pop of the night and a standing ovation. Before the match, Vickie Guerrero came out and introduced herself as the general manager of Raw and told Rosa to leave the ring. She said Michelle McCool has invoked her rematch clause and for the first time ever the women's title will be defended in a 2 on 1 handicap match. Beth vs leycool.
Michelle McCool and Layla defeated Beth Phoenix, so McCool won the WWE Women's Championship. During the match, a "Let's Go Buffalo" chant broke out in support of Beth. Beth was selling the knee injury and had a brace on it. I can't remember the last time I saw the crowd this into a women's title match.
The match ended when McCool and Beth butted heads. After Michelle rolled out of the ring, Layla made the cover. The winner and new women's champion is Michelle McCool. After the match, they mocked Beth as she sold the knee heavily and received a standing ovation as she was helped off.
Kane defeated Chavo Guerrero. Chavo put up a fight at first, then kane ended it with a chokeslam. Predictable match.
They again hyped rey vs punk for later tonight They showed Teddy and Drew. Teddy told Drew that next week it will be McIntyre vs. Big Show.
Rey Mysterio beat C.M. Punk by DQ. Another great match. Rey hit the 619 and then the masked guy came out from under the ring to attack him for the DQ. After the match, the SES posed in the ring, with the masked guy to close the show.
All in all a fantastic show that will definitely be worth watching on Friday. The Kofi vs. Christian, and Punk vs. Rey matches alone make it fantastic.
    Dark Match
Big Show defeated Jack Swagger by DQ. Swagger hit Show with the title belt for the DQ. Show hit swagger with the knockout punch to send everyone home happy and then posed with fans.

    Superstars
Curt hawkins and Vance Archer defeated two local wrestlers. I didn't catch the name of the locals. It was a two-minute squash. After match, they cut a quick promo in which Hawkins reminded everyone who he was. He said they are going to make an impact.
Dolph Ziggler beat Chris Masters. Very good match! Back and forth the whole time. Numerous reversals and finisher attempts. Ziggler won with a Zig Zag. The crowd was behind Masters the entire time.

In that report it keeps saying how great sad! was but i dont think it sounds good at all! they f*cked up a great sounding match by handing the title back to mcintyre, they gave michelle back the belt in a f*cking handicap match - Vickie IS still GM of raw?! wtf? at least rey rey vs punk sounds good!

Hometown hero losing rule applies to Beth this week. :pac:

Tarver will be the Teddy's Virgil, and I think its very likely that Bret will pick Danielson to wrestle The Miz for the US title on Raw.

I was wondering what the hell was going on but yeah I reckon you're right.

I'm liking the angle they are doing with Drew but I wish Christian was being utilised better.

    McCool as champion again? Zzzzz.

Well after a great start I think we can all agree that NXT has been a bit of a flop.

Looking forward to seen Punk and Ray again.

I still have faith... no idea why but... NXT we be rememberd as the birthplace of Bryan Danielson in the WWE (Screw Daniel Bryan) imo

Here's an interview with the recently eliminated Danielson - (sorry but I still don't know how to embed videos:()

It's all a bit weird to me, it's like he's trying to say that he only tries against the big names - Surely that would mean that the whole NXT competition is a joke, I mean if one of the guys isn't trying a leg then what's the point of this whole thing?
As for NXT in general, I've been disappointed with it - It started out well but has really gone downhill recently, random obstacle races to see who gets immunity from elimination? That's more like Total Wipeout than a WWE show. The one thing which pissed me off most though, was at the NXT taping in London. They had the homegrown Regal going up against the guy he mentored, Bryan Danielson. To many people, this was an absolute dream match. They should have been given at least 15 minutes to tear the house down, instead it was over in two. Also, seeing as Regal is a pro, Danielson laying down for him in only two minutes goes against the whole "I only try against the pro's" thing he's hinting at in this interview

NXT has no method to it,no rules no set format it's on the fly it seems which hurts it majorly

What I took from that video, and it seems like a fairly big deal, is they are basically writing off the Daniel Bryan character and going to allow him be Bryan Danielson. I would have thought fans of the guy would be delighted by this.

This is oddly intriguing. As you say they basically put the Daniel Bryan character to bed, but made a big deal out of Bryan Danielson. Never seen them do anything like this before, its an odd mix of kayfabe and reality, but tbh it has me wondering whats going to happen next.

It certainly obvious that its not the last we've seen of him either way. Hopefully they just let him wrestle now, thats literally all they need to do with him.

Have they basically just pulled the plug on NXT and written it off as a bad idea? Its a shame if they have. but it's explain a lot if so.

Not a whole lot different tbh. Danielson on the indies was just a guy who's gimmick was he 's the best wrestler in the world. There was always an assuredness bordering on arrogance with him and he worked face and heel equally well. At least on the indies it was all about the ring work for the most part, though his charisma shone through very well in the smaller buildings on the indies.

Its basically up to a network to pick the show up or else WWE's going to make it a webisode based show like the last series of Tough Enough was..

Yeah I can't recall too many occasions when they have basically ripped on a persona they created and gone with one that was not of their own making. It has the potential to be very interesting.

Hope they do let Bryan be Bryan Danielson. I'd love to see him do well on the grand stage as he seems like a nice guy.

    100% agree.

He seems like a genuine guy who works hard and deserves good things.

It really is an interesting thing for wwe to do, no matter what they did last night on NXT or what they do with the rest of the programme this is the most intrique they will create.

What did Michael Tarver and Bryan actually say or do to get them eliminated

The booking of Danielson has been very weird. Hopefully he can just move on and prove he is the best in the world

    McCool as champion again? Zzzzz.

Layla won it according to some reports:eek:

There is some confusion as to whether Layla or Michelle McCool captured the WWE Women’s Title at the Smackdown taping on Tuesday. The duo defeated Beth Phoenix in a handicap title match. Layla scored the pin and celebrated with the title, and our correspondents are split as to which woman is the new WWE Women’s Champion.

Dot Net reader Jeff Lindberg wrote: “Layla actually is the new Women’s Champion. She got the pin held the title and walked to the back with it… I didn’t hear Tony Chimmel’s announcement, but she was holding the title the entire time, so I assume she is the champ now. She was definitely selling that she was the champion.” (Source: ProWrestling.net)

really enjoyed the Kingston v Christian

    what a match that was

but i do want Christian to get a push and him losing the match isnt helping

Any guesses who CM Punk's masked interferer guy is?
Read on a few sites that it's Joey Mercury..

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 15,827 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

Presume Christian will be pushed now since he lost the IC match and Kofi will prob feud with Drew.

I think Taker is doing his usual comeback during the summer at Summerslam against Swagger which means Swagger will drop the belt then , even though im not a fan of Swagger i would rather him beat Taker because im sick of Taker getting the belt when he is rarely on SD (after his usual WM holiday)

MVP and JTG won when MVP hit what seems to be a new finisher.

Yep, he's replaced his crappy overdrive/Playmaker finisher with Shelton Benjamin's crappy leaping reverse STO (apparently)/Paydirt finisher. :(

    Yay Ziggler
    Yay Striker
Yay Layla's ridiculous over the top celebration
    Yay Punk

Good Smackdown (and Superstars main event) again. For some reason I actually bother to watch the women's matches when they're gimmicked.

Ziggelr v Masters was a quality match. Ziggler always puts on a good match.

Is beth injured? If she is I will misss the Laycool v Beth feud, it was fun.

The IC title scanario is going well. I really like McIntyre. I'm not sure why!

I love how Punk and Mysterio have continued to progress their feud. Rey has been involved in so many good feuds over the last couple of years. Its a pitty people can't get past his size because on ability, quality of matches and quality of feuds he should be the WHC. S.E.S is shaping up well.

Yea i think she injured herself last week but didnt think it was that bad till she was working a house show last weekend. She could be out for a few months i think.

Unless Matt is coming back fit and trim his feud with Drew pointless imo

Show looked liked he was breaking up lego when he was breaking Swagger's prizes :D

So who will be feuding with LayCool now for the women's champion or are LayCool being broke up - I'm glad Layla has the title I'm sick of McTool always getting the title it would be nice to see Nattie get a title shot but she is on Raw

Rey and Punk's feud is definitely shaping up as a contender for feud of the year

A holiday Taker is very deserving of. If Swagger holds the World Title until Summerslam then whether he loses it at that PPV or not then it would have been a nice long reign for him anyway.
