What are the implications for you if a company doesn't give you a contract?
They sent it over email to me before I started working but it has been 6 months and they haven't talked about it once. I asked on my fist week here and they told me they would take care of it later. Should I be worried?

They sent it to you by e-mail but you didn't receive it. Is that what you mean?

Now its 6 months later and you don't have a contract. Frankly contracts were drawn up to protect the employers rights more so than your own. The only thing that protects the employee is the termination procedures and notice periods.

If you, lets say have a company car, mobile phone etc and have a one month notice period and your employer wants you to leave at 5pm that day. They must provide you with a financial package which would cover the cost of a replacement car and phone credit to last till the end of the month.

If that same person didn't have a contract the employer could just tell them to sling their hook and give them nothing.

    I'd want a contract personally.
