I overheard someone say that you can rent your Apartment to Fingal County Council for a fixed period of time, thus eliminating the hassle of sourcing your own tenants.

Does anybody know about this scheme or have any information about it?

I'd assume that it's the RAS scheme that they're talking about.

More information can be found from Fingal CoCo: http://www.fingalcoco.ie/Housing/RentalAccommodationScheme/

Dont know how this works as I dont have an apartment to rent but I have spoke to 2 people who got involved in this and they are sorry as the council put in "undesirable" and "unsuitable" residents. In both cases large families were put into accomadation with elderley people on either side and they have caused distress to the residents.

One of the lads was furious as he is being blamed (in the wrong) for renting his apt/house to these people.

Hard to know what to do!!
