I'm starting a beginners class and have been told to bring "sparring gear" if I have it.
Whats the basic items you would need to bring?
gloves and gumshield I presume are musts, but which types and would I need anything else?

    Strange request to a beginner.

12 or 14oz gloves, shin pads, groin/body protector, gum shield and feet protectors.

Before you go buying all of that you should really go and sample a class to see if you like it first.

If you're looking cheap pads look at the blitz website. They're prices are reasonable and the quality's very good. you probably dont want 130 euro gloves as a beginner.
