    Hi all,

I am running a Dell core 2 pc with Win7 and using DVBViewer with a pinnacle 7010xi Dual DvbS and DvbT card. i have all Irish DTT, and most Astra 2D Channels.

However I am missing a few Transponders, EG 10714 H (Channel 4 Ect) and also 10788 H (BBC 2 Ect) plus a few other transponders.

Now i have tried this card in other systems and it still misses these transponders, i also have tried manual searches and loading .ini files from DVBViewer forum. I also checked the dish with a meter and that is ok. I have tried different software and still no joy.

    Thanks in advance,

    Vinnie

Were the other systems connected to the same dish?
Could you try when connected to another dish or use a satfinder tool to check the alignment of your dish?

Given the transponder frequencies involved it could be a problem with interference from a nearby DECT phone or base unit or even a wireless router. When you say you tried the card in different systems, was it always in the same location? I have the same card with DVBviewer on a 64 bit Win 7 system with no issues.

    Thanks Guys,

PYe, I checked the dish with a meter and all is good, Yes the other systems were on the same dish. I will bring my system to a mates house and try it there.

Fat Tony, I never thought about the dect phone or router, would my wireless card/s both internal and external dongle affect this.

    I will try this tonight.

On second thoughts it may not be the DECT phone. That interferes higher up the band. For example, my DECT phone interferes with 11623 (Russia Today) and 11642 (Flava, Scuzz - other music channels). But only if the phone is within a couple of inches from the cable or beside the PC. The only other thought I had was that as the transponders you mention are at the very lowest end of the acceptance range of the LNB it might not be outputting sufficient signal. Have you tested with a SKY box or other satellite receiver at the same point? Otherwise it might be necessary to tweak the dish alignment as suggested by PyeContinental.

I have that exact card in my Win7 HTPC.

Excellent card for its vintage (its been around a few years).

I have no problems with any transponders from both Astra2 & Eurobird

This is messing with my head, i still can`t figure it out.
I have all channels on my Edison argus..

I tried it in my friends house, it`s still the same, might try to return it for a replacment.

Have you tried with a different software, mediaportal or dvbdream. I've never really used dvbviewer but I've heard there is an add-on called " transedit " which is better for tuning channels - " http://www.dvbviewer.com/griga/TransEdit%20E/MainWindow.html "

Now that you have eliminated local interference as a possible cause for the problem, there must be an issue with your card or configuration. Can you verify that you are receiving other transponders with horizontal polarisation? Switching to Horizontal polarisation requires the LNB to be supplied with 18V or thereabouts. Is it possible the card is not outputting the necessary voltage? Do you, perhaps have a problem with the power supply in your PC? The current draw is miniscule, though, unless you're trying to drive a motor.

    Hi Tony,

On my other box (Edison Argus) im recieving all channels.

    Yep recieving other H Transponders.

I have upgraded the PSU on the Dell to a 450w.

I am going to request a return to the seller.
